Local media reports that shots were fired outside President Donald Trump’s private Florida club, Mar-A-Lago, and that local authorities have two in custody.

According to Palm Beach Post, the suspects allegedly ran past two security checkpoints at the club, and a car chase ensued before two suspects were taken into police custody following shots being fired near Mar-A-Lago.

Palm Beach Post reports:

An SUV breached two security points outside Trump’s Palm Beach home, and law enforcement fired their weapons at the vehicle, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said. It was not immediately known which agency those law enforcement officers worked for.

A shop owner near the scene told the Palm Beach Daily News that he saw a woman, who looked to be in her 30s, speeding in a Jeep down South County Road with two Palm Beach Police cars following close behind.

At least 10 different police officers with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office responded, and traffic around Mar-A-Lago was shut down for a period of time following the shooting.

President Trump frequently referred to Mar-A-Lago as the “Southern White House” during his presidency. The event is often a gathering place for pro-Trump groups, and this weekend will be rented by the Trumpettes for a Super Bowl gala featuring Roseanne Barr, a prominent Trump supporter, as the headliner.

Earlier this month, an Iranian national was arrested near Mar-A-Lago carrying knives and $22,000 in cash.

National File reported:

An Iranian national was arrested outside Mar-A-Lago with a machete, pickax, knives, and $22,000 in cash after an Iranian reportedly promised $80 million to assassinate President Donald Trump.

According to reports, the Iranian man has been identified as Masoud Yareilzoleh, and he was arrested sleeping in a gazebo located in a park only five miles away from President Trump’s luxurious estate and upscale club.

Police were called by a concerned citizen who saw the man sleeping in the park at around 9:30 a.m. last Friday.

A motive for the suspects police say were involved in today’s shooting remains unknown.
